It’s a delicate balance — how to be who you are and still be in a partnership. The trick is to learn to compromise without being compromised. Today, my partner and I discovered how to do this while deciding where and what to eat.
I’m mostly vegetarian and he likes meat. As usual, we had a hard time figuring how to accommodate our differing tastes. We were both famished, bickering and whining — each of us trying to convince the other to come on over to my side. We ended up with a solution that pleased us both. First we ate where I wanted. He kept me company while I happily ate my chosen cuisine. Then, at another restaurant, he enjoyed what he wanted while I sat and watched. Afterward, we shared a cup of coffee and some sweets.
This is just a little example of the bigger negotiations we all make in every kind of partnership we’re in, not just the romantic ones. Tonight the full moon is in Libra, the sign of the scales. It’s the perfect moment to refine the dance of give and take in your relationships.

At every full moon, the moon and sun oppose each other in their positions in the sky. They directly face off, but they’re in a conversation. There is no way they can ignore the other, they have to deal.
When the Sun is in Aries and the Moon is in Libra, the relationship aspect of the opposition is heightened. This is because Aries is the Sign of ME and Libra is the sign of YOU. How WE get along becomes the bargaining point. Not just between ME and YOU but reconciling the opposites within.
Libra is the sign of YOU. Libra can be very accommodating to the other – if you’re happy, I’m happy. When expressed in the extreme, Libra can be co-dependent, too willing to compromise in order to be liked = imbalance.
Aries is the sign of ME. Aries needs to be the leader and expects others to just go along. When taken to the extreme, Aries can end up isolating himself because he can’t find anyone who wants to play second fiddle all the time = imbalance.
There’s a reason opposites attract. Each of us has something the other doesn’t. We all want to be liked, but don’t want to give up control. It’s easy to fight, but we can learn from our opposite as well.
In every relationship there are many ways to creatively play with the dynamic to find a common ground everyone can happy with. For example, when you find yourself at either end of the relationship scale, try to consciously change your role and see how that shifts the conversation.
This balancing act is never-ending. The dance of opposites is lifelong. But practice makes perfect, so keep on dancing. In those few moments that you truly achieve a happy union, savor the sweetness.

Wendi, you have hit the nail on the head, once again! I had to LOL when you mentioned the song “Stuck in the Middle with you”, as I’ve made reference to it many, many times, because that’s how I’ve felt in certain situations. “I’ve got clowns to the left of me and jokers to the right and I’m STUCK IN THE MIDDLE WITH YOU” I’ve made a vow to myself to keep my distance from the negative clowns and jokers and surround myself with only positive people with a healthy sense of humor. Thanks for the inspiration, my interstellar medium and long time friend!

Wendi, what do you think of all the “Zodiac shift” stuff that was in the news this week?
