re-connect with your instinct
The moon is dark, but you wouldn’t know — there’s a heavy snow cloud obscuring it completely from our vision. This mysterious landscape represents perfectly the feeling of the New Moon conjunct Neptune and Chiron in the sign of Aquarius. Although the New Moon occurred on Saturday, February the 13th, the feelings it stirred will continue to be experienced by us all over the next few weeks.
a snow meditation
Today I made a poppet (a magickal term for puppet) in the form of a lady made from snow. She was created from all of the elements — EARTH (twigs) + AIR (the idea) + WATER (snow) + animated with my life force with FIRE. She was (wo)man-made in my image, but ended up looking like some kind of bird-alien.
Seeing seagulls in a snowstorm made me think about hope and survival. They know what to do and haven’t lost touch with their instincts. They’re actually a lot closer to the earth than we are even though they fly high. In many cultures the word for “snowbird” means “Woman.”
Snowflakes — each one different, too many to count, amassing, crystallizing, melting into the ground. Just as there are many different ways of viewing the same event. Which version is the Truth?

a) Highlights the earth, reminding us of our natural wealth. Earth’s jewels are decorated with crystals to remind us it’s worth.
b) Obscures what’s underneath with a glittery blanket of sugar-coated beauty and artificiality.
c) Means your stuck in winter, stuck in traffic, stuck on earth.
pisces purification
I tried to take snowlady home with me but she was transient, here for a limited time just like we are. Better to spend our precious time here nourishing the earth than resenting the mess.
Purify the earth. Purify your body. Especially at this time of year, drink lots of water and sweat it out at the spa. Resist the urge to dry up (with alcohol and caffeine) your excess uncomfortable, yet powerful, potentially transformational emotions.
Dare to actually feel your feelings, deal with them, and process them. Cry ‘em out if you have to. It’s all a part of the purification process, leading to honesty and forgiveness. Tune into your instincts, inextricably entwined with your emotions.

Aquarius, the water bearer is an air sign. It’s like a cloud, a vehicle for spreading ideas around the earth and sprinkling them down to us. Looking at Obama’s presidency, compare the high ideals of last year to this year’s actual results. What happened when the ideas hit the ground? It takes all of us snowflakes, not just one big benevolent father figure (Obama as Santa) to make a sea change.
Santa’s North Pole is an untainted, idealized, utopian snow globe. But now we know the polar ice caps are melting. Or is this an illusion too? There are those who could profit from a created mass confusion.
catch it before it disappears
True inspiration only falls so often. When it hits, meditate upon that magickal moment and capture it’s essence. Tune into the feeling of hope and deep understanding it kindled within you. Your heart is the key to sift Truth from confusion. Tap into your gnosis, your innate inner knowing.
Sow the clouds with this potent seed. Give it to the collective, for it was given to you from a higher source. Even though it seems like there are way too many snowflakes already, your specific DNA (contribution) could start a chain reaction — a human wavelength carrying a powerful new charge.
