Waiting for a New Light to Dawn
We’re still hanging in there between the breakdown of foundations and impending build-up of new structures of stability. Inspiring visions of change and imaginative solutions are on the horizon. But we’re not there just yet…
In this in-between period, life can feel a little abstract and uncertain. You could be drawn into losing yourself in hopeful humanitarian ideals for the future (Obama!), forget your cares in the crowd (alcohol, drugs, parties) or immerse yourself in technology (i love my iphone!).
It may seem as though we’re making it up as we go along, and we are! At this major turning point in society, we can use this moment to create and reshape our own lives and the society in which we live. How to enjoy the swirl of activity that this time of year always brings, use it for inspiration AND maintain your own integrity all at the same time?
As usual, there will be parties-a-plenty and much merrymaking. The best days for celebrating will be around the FULL MOON on the 12th. Be open to sudden meetings with inspiring people. Shop around, keep your options open, wait and see before jumping into any major commitments. Enjoy the magic, but let things simmer awhile. Wait for the fog to lift to see what’s real.
In all of the frenetic social activity, you’ll need to carve out some personal time for yourself. Nurture your health and keep up with the practical details of running your life to maintain balance.
However, don’t spend your ALL of your precious time alone being a slave to a list of “things to do”. We are all becoming increasingly psychic and sensitive emotionally. You are not a machine and your inner child will let you know it! Time spent meditating, creating + enjoying art/music, sleeping, or just vegging-out and doing nothing will be essential to your sense of well-being.
It may be tempting to think the answers we seek are OUT THERE and not at home, in our own backyard. Religion, news of world events, and travel can only enlighten us so much. Pay attention to the everyday interactions and daily communications we usually take for granted. If you keep your eyes and ears and mind open – surprising options and new possibilities will be illuminated.
Success will be achieved by marrying hard work, persistence, and ambition with imaginative, futuristic, and humanitarian ideals. Personal survival will flourish when you acknowledge we’re all in it together.
In the days leading up to the new year, use the power of the NEW MOON (Dec. 27th) to focus your intent upon goals and resolutions for 2009. Dreams CAN become reality.
